COVID-19 Updates - Updated as of August 26th, 2022

This will be updated regularly as we receive new guidances... Please check back for additional changes or modifications. 

 

Your health and safe is our highest priority.  To that end will will be strictly following Maine CDC, federal CDC and AHL policies and recommendations. This keeps not only you safe but us and our staff healthy as well.  

We will be following the state of Maine travel restrictions which are listed below.  

 

Lodging Guidelines are an ever evolving topic.  PLEASE check back with us closer to the time of your arrival so that we can best provide you with guidance on the guidelines that will apply to your visit.

MASKS: Masks are now STRONGLY ENCOURAGED but not required at this time. 

  • We follow the federal CDC recommendations for COVID-19 community levels. In Hancock County, Maine, community level is Low as of August 26th. The CDC recommends that you:

    • If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions

    • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines

    • Get tested if you have symptoms

    • People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask and stay home. 

  • As of June 18thth, we are moving to Masks are  strongly suggested but not required.  As we have travelers from all over the country masks are suggested within the B&B as we will not know the vaccination status of each guest.  We hope to keep everyone safe and healthy, including our staff and you as a guest in our home. We also understand that many of you booked with us because you felt comfortable with our COVID policies and procedures  (as outlined on our website) to keep the inn clean and sanitized to current policies.  

  • We will review masking on a weekly basis based on Federal CDC recommendations. Based on COVID level this may change at any time.  

HOUSEKEEPING: Daily housekeeping has been suspended at this time. Rooms will only be serviced at the end of your stay after you check-out. 

CHECK-IN:

  • At this time we are unable to accommodate early check-ins in order to allow sufficient time to clean and sanitize the room prior to your arrival. 

  • Only 1 person is allowed to complete the check-in process to minimize gatherings and allow proper social distancing. 

LUGGAGE: We are unable to store your luggage prior to your arrival or after you check-out for sanitary reasons.

FOOD: 

  • We will be offering TO-GO breakfast bags for those that do not want to eat in a common room for breakfast.  You will need to sign up for this option each day

  • We are offering set times for seating at 2-person tables to allow for proper distancing of 6 ft between tables.  You will be required to sign-up for a breakfast time the night before.  

  • PLEASE wear a mask to your breakfast table and only remove after you are seated by Eric. If get up from the table please replace your mask.  

Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is strictly between 3:00pm and 6:00pm.

  • At this time we are unable to accommodate early check-ins in order to allow sufficient time to clean and sanitize the room prior to your arrival. We hope you understand.

  • Prior arraignments must be made in advance for guests arriving after 6:00pm. 

 

Check-out time is by 11:00am.  Due to the nature of our small inn please note that we can not allow for late check-outs.   

 

Check-in Process:

  • Only 1 person is allowed to complete the check-in process to minimize gatherings and allow proper social distancing.

  • Masks are REQUIRED

  • The front door of the house remains locked at all times for your health and safety. 

  • Please call from the car or ring the "Ring" doorbell. Someone will greet you on the front porch to complete your check-in process.

Deposit

A 50% deposit is required for stays two nights or longer.  For one nights stays, the full amount, including tax, is due at time of reservation. Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of deposit. The balance of your reservation fee is due upon arrival. Rates are subject to a 9% Maine state lodging tax. 

Minimum Stay

Two night minimum stay required.

Due to COVID restrictions and cleaning regulations are are unable to accommodate 1 nights stays this season. 

 

Occupancy

All rates assume double occupancy. Each room or suite must be occupied by a person over the age of 18. 

Guest Rooms and Suites: Each of our guest rooms and suites can only accommodate two people maximum, including children and infants (of any age).

It will be necessary for parties traveling with more than two people to reserve multiple rooms or a two-bed suite.

 

Two-bed Cottage: Our two-bed cottage can only accommodate four people maximum, including children and infants of any age. Rates are based on double occupancy.  Additional rate of $30 per person applies. 

Groups

In order to maintain the level of service and personal attention we believe is integral to the B&B experience, we are unable to accommodate large groups and gatherings. Please, no more than three rooms to any one group.

Cancellation

These cancellation policies are still in place at this time.  We assume that if you are booking at this time you are comfortable with traveling during a pandemic and the restrictions that may be in place at the time of your vacation. We encourage all of our guests to get trip insurance if you have any concerns.

 

As we are a small inn, cancellations affect us greatly. If you find it neccessary to cancel or change your reservation, please call ( email cancellations will not be accepted) more than 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival so your deposit can be refunded, less a $25.00 service charge per room.  

 

Please also note that shortening your stay is considered a cancellation.  For cancellations within 14 days, your deposit will be refunded (less a $25.00 service charge per room) based on our ability to re-rent your rooms(s). If we are unable to re-rent your room(s) for the entire length of your stay your deposit will be forfeit and the guest is responsible for the full value of the reservation. 

Those who cancel the day of a reservation (or ‘no-shows’) are responsible for the entire amount of their reservation. Your credit card on file will be charged. We are unable to refund for early departures.

We apply our cancellation policy fairly to all guests regardless of personal situation, acts of nature, acts of God, or airline.

 

Pets

Unfortunately, we cannot accept pets/animals of any kind.  The innkeepers have 2 personal dog that resides in the owners quarters. Read more about them on our "Meet Your Innkeepers" page.  

Smoking

For the comfort of all guests, the Holbrook House has a tobacco and smoke-free campus, including electronic cigerettes and THC containing products. Smoking is prohibited anywhere inside the inn, including decks, patios and porches. Any evidence of smoking will result in a minimum $400 cleaning fee.

Children

The Holbrook House is a relaxing adult getaway destination. Therefore, infants and young children are not appropriate. Children traveling with their parents should be at least 12 years old.

Other
  • We reserve the right to refuse service for ANY reason, including but not limited to exceeding the maximum occupancy limit, disrespectful behavior towards your innkeepers or other guests.

  • The Holbrook House is not responsible for loss of valuables or money.

  • We have offer off-street parking.  We offer one parking spot for each guest room or suite.  Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate trailers, RVs, or oversized vehicles.
