Maine’s policies for visitors traveling from out-of-state
Visitors from New Hampshire and Vermont are exempt from these requirements effective immediately for travel. They may, starting June 12, stay in lodging establishments in all Maine counties.
Effective June 26, people who are not Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont residents and are visiting Maine lodging will be asked to sign a Certificate of Compliance certifying one of the three is true:
1) Completed a Covid-19 test in their home state and received a negative Covid-19 test result no later than 72 hours prior to arrival in Maine to forgo the 14 day quarantine in Maine (please travel with your test results)
2) Have already completed a 14 day quarantine in Maine
3) Will quarantine in Maine for 14 days and follow the current guidelines: you will not have use of any of the inn services (including breakfast), common spaces, and can’t go in public places like restaurants and grocery stores.
Lodging guidelines are an ever evolving topic. We envision that they may get revised as time goes on. We hope that more states will be added to the exemption list like NH and VT as Covid-19 cases decrease. We will keep you posted if these guidlines change.
At this time, the Certificate of Compliance is required at check-in. Prior to your arrival we will send an email with the full set of our guidelines and a copy of the Certificate of Compliance.
